Get Paid for Solar Offset Credits Generated by Your Solar PV System!

As a solar generator in Alberta, you are entitled to sell the carbon offset credits generated from your solar electricity generation. Making and selling these credits is simple – and an ultra-low risk way to boost your solar revenues.

Introducing Alberta Solar Credits

EQUS is proud to partner with Rewatt Power to offer EQUS members access to their Alberta Solar Offset Credits program. This powerful, proven program allows EQUS members who are micro-generators to improve the return on their solar investments by selling their carbon offset credits.

Don’t wait a minute longer to collect on revenues you are entitled to – book your call today and find out what thousands of solar generators across Alberta already know: carbon prices are rising and one of the best ways to benefit from this trend is by selling carbon offset credits.

How Does it Work?

  1. You connect your solar generation to Rewatt Market, an online marketplace for the generation and trade of environmental credits (see eligibility requirements below).

  2. Credits are prepared on your behalf. Everything that is normally cumbersome and costly is taken care of for you.

  3. For eight years you generate as many credits as possible and collect eight years of additional revenue.

Who is Eligible?

This program may be for you, if:

  • You are a solar generator in Alberta
  • You legally own the right to create offsets from your generation and haven't given it away as part of a grant program (if you have received grant funding you may not qualify)
  • Have a project that is operational or shovel ready

Program Benefits

Micro-generators who join Rewatt Market:

  • Generate premium credits that large, accredited buyers demand – without the hassle of creating these credits themselves
  • Gain access to additional revenues at minimum cost

  • Partake in the upside of carbon prices (other programs tend to offer a capped price and net the upside for themselves)

As an example of the revenue boosting potential of participating in this program, an average 10kW solar system generates between five to nine offsets a year. Assuming the price of carbon credits lands somewhere between $30/tco2e (approximate 2021 price levels) and $40/tco2e (expected 2022-2023 price levels), then the average 10kW solar system might generate anywhere from $150 to $360 per year in extra revenue. In other words, a 10kW solar system can generate thousands of dollars in additional funding by joining Rewatt Market.
